Currently, The Overthrown Vow is not released, but it will be anywhere online you want to look! It will be available in print and ebook formats.
-
Yes! It’s the first installment in a three-book series.

Other books, of course. Some of my favorite authors are Holly Black, Kathleen Glasgow, Kristin Hannah, Rachel Gillig, SJM, and SO many more!
I also really love playing video games. Lately, I've enjoyed: Final Fantasy 16; The Witcher: Wild Hunt; Clair Obscure: Expedition 33; Hogwarts Legacy; Scarlet Hollow; Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden; Assassin's Creed Syndicate; God of War Ragnarok; and Marvel's Spider-Man.
Music is a huge inspiration to me as well. I listen to a lot of video game/movie soundtracks (please refer to the video game list). Pirates of the Caribbean, How to Train Your Dragon, and Harry Potter have great movie soundtracks. Some of my other favorite artists are Billie Eilish, The Oh Hellos, Tame Impala, Bear McCreary, Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman, and Enya. They constantly on repeat in my writing playlists, along with a ton of other indie songs.

Yep!
Unless you want to spend a ton of money, you’re going to have to wear a lot of hats. Watch all the Youtube tutorials, read all the Reddit threads, and look up interviews of other authors to learn about what their experiences have been like. Take time tutoring yourself, and don’t give up until things look the way you want them to. Self-publishing is all about creative freedom!
You need friends, too—beta readers, professional editors, or other writer friends to swap manuscripts with. Fresh eyes are the best eyes. I have a mix of friends who are different kinds of readers, but I know that all of them love to read my genre (fantasy). It’s extremely important to know who your audience is, and once you find the right people, the feedback you receive from them is GOLDEN.
I also have more info about this on my socials. :)

I have a more in-depth video about this on my socials, but basically, I wanted total creative freedom, and I wanted to make things happen at my own pace.
That isn’t to say I’m opposed to traditional publishing; if I ever feel that I have a manuscript worth querying, I might give it a shot one day. That just wasn’t the case with The Overthrown Vow.

With lots of caffeine. No joke.
My husband is an incredible dad, and is a huge support when I need to get some extra work done. But when he’s busy working, the only real way I can get writing done is during naptime and bedtime. That means all my household chores, etc. need to be done when my kids are awake and in the way. I listen to lots of audiobooks and my writing playlists during the day to get my creative juices flowing. It’s a hard balance, but it won’t feel difficult forever!

Yes! Selectively. I’m a bit of an introvert (the writing-in-dark-corners kind), so I’d be thoughtful about which interviews and events I commit to. That said, I’m always open to opportunities that feel like a good fit.
